Education System

The French education system long enjoyed a reputation for having one of the best education systems in the world, with a nationally set curriculum, traditional methods of learning, high academic standards and strict discipline. All educational programmes in France are regulated by the Ministry of National Education. The head of the ministry is the Minister of National Education, one of the highest-ranking officials in the cabinet. Higher education in France is organized in three levels or grades which correspond to those of other European countries, facilitating international mobility: the Licence and Licence Professionnelle (bachelor's degrees), and the Master's and Doctorate degrees. France has held its prominent place in subjects like Mathematics, Astrophysics, Biology, Genetics, Physics and other science subjects. Tuition fees

Grandes ecoles - Students will pay more at France's highly selective grandes ecoles and grands etablissements (great schools and establishments), which set their own fees (about £ 500-600 per year, but in some cases, they can lead up to £10,000 per year).

Private universities Tuition fees in private universities start at £1,500 and can reach £20,000 per year.

In business schools, regardless of the degree level, fees range between £5,000 and £7,000 a year.

Admission Intakes

For Colleges:

Admission Eligibility

Each university has their own requirements for GPAs. However, generally 50% or above are considerable.

Bachelors:

10 + 2 with minimum 50%, IELTS score of 5.5 or 6.0.

Masters / Post graduate:

10 + 2 + 3 or 10 + 2 + 4, IELTS score of 6.0 or 6.5.

Indian students who have obtained a degree at the master's or higher level in France can work part-time in France for up to 2 years after their studies. France provides many opportunities for companies to grow, and Paris is a hub for start-up companies from around the world. Students can work part-time (for up to 20 hours a week) on a student visa for France.

As of 2015, every Indian student who has completed a degree at the master's or a higher level in France can extend his or her stay for up to one year. This measure has been introduced to enable Indian students to seek suitable employment in France in line with their studies. Students are allowed to work part-time to support themselves during this period.
